These pictures were sent to me by Corine who bought a plate of lady Jeanne at EchtWaarBazaar in Utrecht last December. I like the contrast between painting and porcelain: small versus big, abstract versus figurative, elegance versus roughness, thick versus thin, white versus colorful..

It's much fun breathing new life into antique crockery that would otherwise be put away in a box in the attic or basement or even thrown away. And it's even more fun they are valued by mostly fresh creative independent women from different parts of the world, who share the same passion for design, uniqueness and re-use. A NEW HOME FOR MARY LOUISE

When I started selling my ceramics online, I never expected to get so many warm and kind responses from buyers across the world. For instance from Ariane Reichardt from Hamburg, Germany. On her blog 'Die Rose' she wrote a nice post about welcoming Marie Louise in her Castle and about an article featuring my work in this month's issue of the German magazine WohnIdee. Thank you Ariane!

She has settled very well... 

at teatime she has got to know all of the Castle... 

and makes even on the wall a good figure! 

But sometimes it seems as she misses her girlfriends...'

Hélène is treated very nicely by the family of her new friend, interior advisor and artist Patrice Aarts.

Last Sunday they spoiled her with some delicious home-baked cinnamon buns. Mmm..

LA BELLE DAME A BORDEAUX

Les belles dames often find their new homes abroad. They travelled to America, Russia, Italy, Switserland, Canada, Brazil, Singapore, Australia, Beirut.. I sometimes wish I could hide inside the package to see their new owners and homes.

This picture of Madeleine between a bunch of Dutch 'soesjes' (a kind of custard buns) was sent to me by the Kros family. It looks like she is being well taken care of..!
